Obituary.
Catherine A. Kvzer. nee Black,
was born August 10, 1885 and died
January 22, 1905, making her pilgrimage
here on earth 20 years, 5
months &Dd 12 days. Soe was the
youngest daughter of Mr. W E and
D E. Black, of n^ar Priceville S. C
On December 20, 1904. t-he was
united in mairiage by Rtv Sbeaiy
to Mr Harry K)Zrr, of near Lexington,
making their voyage together in
life only a abort span cl one month
and two days. She leaves a husband,
father, mother, two brothers, three
sisters and a host of relatives and
friends to mourn her sad departure.
She was a loving daughter and a
devoted wif*; she was another fLwer
just in the bloom of life, but went
from this world to share the glories
of that world beyoud. We hope to
meet her some daj, where no more
parting comes, but wn^re all is peace
and joy. It gives her dear loved
ones relief to think of her dying testimony
which she has left behind for
them to know. She is safe on the
other side beckoning her loved ones
to come. God bless and comfort
this dear young bereaved husband
aDd entire family.
A few more years shall roll by, a
few more seasons come, aDd we shall
be with those that rest asleep within
the tomb; a few more struggles here,
a few more partings, snd we shall be
where temptests cease and surges
swell no more.

A few counterfeiters have lately been
making and trying to sell imitations of
Dr. King's New Discover}' for consumption,
coughs and colds, and other medicines,
thereby defrauding the public.
This is to warn you to beware of such
people, who seek to profit, through
stealing the reputation of remedies
which have been success ally curing
disease for over 35 years. A sure protection
to you, is our name on the wrap,
per. Look for it on all Dr. King's, or
Bucklen's remedies, as all others are
mere imitations. H. E. 3UCKLEN &

One of the many laws of the State

Afraid cf Strong Medicines.
Many people suffer for years from
rheumatic pains, and prefer to do so

mud is hub d^ep, he goes on with
his mail weiring a broad smile and a
big overcoat
The cold has injured the oat crop
considerably. I hope the people
wont give up the grain crop for cotton.
It is high time that our farmers
were considering the corn, wheat,
potato and meat problem more carefully
than the cotton problem. L?-t
there be plenty of these reliable
articles among us and cotton will be
a reasonably good price. Increase
the acreage of these food producing
articles by all means so as to have
plenty and to spare then plant all
the cotton you please.
Notwithstanding the rough weather
our young people are spliting the
mud and ice attending parties and
Bociables.
We are glad to welcome Mr. Wesley
Amick back to his old home place
again.
Mr. A. A. Metz has added a commodious
addition to his dwelling.
We learn that L. M. Bouknight,
who is teaching school at Cokesbury,
has been elected to teach geology,
physice, Greek and history next
year. He i9 now teaching senior

work in his own department. We

Chamberlain's Cough Remedy
the Mother's Favorite.
The soothing and healing properties
of this remedy, its pleasant taste and
prompt and permanent cures have made
it a favorite with people everywhere.
It is especially prized by mothers of
small children, for colds, croup and
whooping cough, as it always affords
quick relief, and as it contains no opium
or other harmful drug, it may be given
as confidently to a baby as to an adult.
