A Certain Cure for CroupWhen
a cliild shows symptoms of
croup there is no time to experiment
with new remedies, ne matter how
highly they may be recommended. There
is one preparation that can always be
depended upon. It has been in use for
many years and has never been known
to fail, viz: Chamberlain's Cough Remedy.
Mr. M. F. Compton, of Market,
Texas, says of it: "I have used Chamberlain's
Cough Remedy in severe cases
of croup with my children and can
truthfully say it always gives prompt
relief. For sale by The Kaufmann

The Fall River Strike.
Fall River, Mass., December 22 ?
Many persons now believe that tbe
end of tbe cotton mill operatives'
strike is in sight. Tbe union members
state that tbe contest will not
be terminated until tbe owners and
strikers reach an understanding of
some sort. Still, it is said by persons
well informed upon tbe matter,
that aeurance by tbe manufacturer
that wages will be restored under
favorable conditions and tbat minor
grievances, independent of tbe re
ductioc, will be remedied will end
the strike.
Do Thyself No Harm.
People need Dot be g ready troobitd
about President Rjosevelt/s Southern
policy. He is powerless to do the
South any permanent iriary, if he
desired to do so. But he is exceedingly
anxious to manifest himself as
the President of all the people during
bis second term. He is tbe most
astute and iar seeing politician of
his party and he is wi*e enough to
avoid breakers and hidden rooks a9
he i3 towing tbe ship of State over
some pretty rough sbas.
