Do ?Tot Sum Old Papers.
Columbia, Dumber 15?Special:
Miss Helen M F.Iton, of Springfield,
Mass, will have a very uice Christmas
present with the compliments of the
State of South Cxrolina. Several
days ago she wrote that in looking
over some old family papers she
found two old bonds which she did
not think were worth anything, but
to be on the pafe side she sent them
here to inquire if they had any money
value. She haR been advised that
they are worth $2,320, and a warrant
f'r that amount will be sent her.
Very many women would have thrown
the old papers iDto the fire, but this
Springfield woman evidently does not
bslieve in bumiDg old papers in that
way, and as a result she will get a
Coristojas present from a most unexpected
source.
