Conway Field
Oa Saturday morning [November
11."] Diggett Oijilvie, operator of a
moulder of tbe Conway Lumber Co,
wbile ufriag odg of tbe trim saws of
the company happen*d to a very sad
accident. The saw it seems, is suspended
from the ioft of the planing
mill shed by a lever aDd is fastened
at the top by a rope to which is fastened
a weight to pull the saw back to
its place when iet go by the operator
It was while operating this saw that
the rope broke and the saw flew back
striking the young operator at tie
junction of the left thigh with the
b >dy causing a very ugly and paiDful
wound. Mr. Ogilvie was carried to
the drug *tore of Dr. E Norton,
where medical aid was immediately
administered. He was carried to the
home of hie graudmother, Mrs. Jeremiah
Smith, where from all reporte,
at present be is improving.
Mr. Ogilive is an efficient employee
and the accident is sadly regretted
by all.

has been qu te a suffer*r from rheumatism
and it. is thought it attacked
his heart. He was in usual health
last night and attended to his business
during the day.

cian here is authority for the statement
that Miss Carrie Sawney, residing
three miles southwest of this
city, has jast completed a self imposed
fast of 48 days with no ill
effect. She weighed 240 pounds
at the beginning of her feast and it
was for the purpose of reducing her
weight that the task was undertaken.
She now weighs 200 pounds, and al- 1
though for 48 days she subsisted
entirely on water, she is in the best
