I wish to thank you for your generous support in the past primary * * .r i ii L: 3 and do assure you mat; me aixiuueas, the good will, and the interest from my friends of Lexington county will never be forgotten. The race has narrowed down to Mr. Timmerman and myself, and while I am a poor man I believe it my duty to make as an agressive fight in this race as my limited means will permit. My family has never been a political one and my name is not known in the political history of South Carolina. To you, voters, therefore, I will say this, that before you cast a'ballot for a man because his father served you well in a high position, consider what chance will your children have if you yourselves have only served in the humble walks of life. I have used no money in this campaign save for most legitimate purposes, and when the race is over whether I am defeated or elected I feel that I will have earned the commendation of my friends and the respect of my opponants. I have made this fight upon merit alone, and I believe that the votes cast for me have been cast upon this basis. I offer to you, the people of my circuit, my best brains and energy and the endorsement of my County and Bar. If I am elected I pledge to you the conscientious performance of my duty to defend the honor of South Carolina and protect her laws. George R Rembert. Ths.Shoaly Murder Case. The case of Marion Parr, who is charged with the murder of Clarence Shealy, at a fishing camp near Columbia, a few weeks ago, will come up for trial in the Richland Court of Sessions this week. Parr was carried into court yesterday so that the grand jury c&uld take action on his case. A true bill was relumed and Parr was held for arraignment. So far he has employed no counsel and the court assigned two attorneys to defend him. The man assumes an absolutely indifferent manner and still claims that the gun which was found between the mattresses was brought to the house by a negro and that it was hidden this way to prevent the children of the neighborhood from finding it.
