You are earnestly urged to attend the county reunion of Confederate YeteraDs at Leesviile, S. C, on July 15th. The Lutheran Sunday school will have a box picnic, in Boof's Park, nearly opposite the Palmetto Collegiate Institute, at 3 o'clock Thursday -afternoon. The scholars of the Sunday school and their parents and friends are cordially invited to attend. There will be do baskets, but every one is expected to bring a box filled with nice things. The officers and teachers of the Sunday school will furnish lemonade and ice cream. Harfced Sown. The barbecue at Summer's, in the Fork, last Saturday, was well attended and pleasantly oonsumated. Several candidates were present and made speeches. Geo R Rembert, Esq., for Solicitor was first introduced and made an apparently good impression. E. TJ. Shealy and. J. M. Epting, running for the House of Representatives spoke before dinner. After dinner J. Brooks Wingard, candidate for re election to the House, spoke and was followed by John S. Derrick for re-election as Superin4 tendenfc of Education. Tbe dinner was fully up to tbe standard. A large shipment of handsome i ' table linens and towels just received at the Lexington Department Store. ! He is a candidate for reelection as Magistrate and is one of the most successful farmers on Black creek. Mrs. Moyer. of JohnstoD, is visiting Mrs. Jas. W. Corley, near here. She is a daughter of Mr. Isaiah Hendrix, who in the long ago resided in this place. Mr. Hendrix moved to Aiken where the last years of life were spent. The County Commissioners awarded the contract to build the bridge over High Hill creek, to Mr. Tom Raucb, but as there is some difficulty about obtaining the right of way, the building of this bridge has been 1 I - J pgeon noieu. The factory shut - - tS down and also the planing mill of the T. E. Campbell Company. The value of the Dispatch as en advertising medium was illustrated by the insertion last week of a notice of a pocket book found. The loser was a hard working negro woman who could ill afford the loss, and it was a pleasure to Mr. E B. Rjof to turn it over to her. Brookland needs a railroad from Cayce's crossing the river at the old Saluda factory site to connect with the C. N. and L. R R This will give it the advantage cf competing railroads?The Southern and the Seaboard Air Line. Then will she "flourish as the green bay tree." Barbecue.
