Lewis, student of the Medical Cjllege in CaarlestoD, has been in Leesvi'le several days. Quite a number of people from Bates burg, were interested in the ball game here last Friday afternoon. The last of Leesville's host of teachers, scattered over the country, to arrive was Miss Mat tie Jean Adams, who came in last week after completing her year's work in Meridian Female College, Meridian, Miss. A series of services are being held at the Methodist church this week. Rev. Yarborough is the speaker and much good is expected from the meeting. Messrs. BallmaD, Fred and Wille Schroder of Columbia, Wilmington and New York respectively, spent Sunday in Leesville with their mother, and their sister, Mrs. J. W. Kinard. Among the visitors at the ball ground last Friday afternoon were Trsasurer Frank Shealy and Supt. of Education, John S. Derrick. ; Enterprising men of Liesville express themselves as being assured of the bank which has been talked of for some time. The particulars concerning its organization, etc, have not been given out. W. H. Grever of Columbia, will preach on that occasior. The committee on arrangements for the reunion of Cmfederate veterans met at Leesville last Satur day. Leesville extended to them an invitation to meet lere again. The committee accepted and set the time for July loth. Leesville will do as much, or more, for them than she di] last year.
