I2T LOVING MEMORY
OF LITTLE
Mary Olive Hedgepath,
- v- v x
DAV^HJER OF
MR. AND MRS;%. 0. HEDGEPATH,
DIED MAY 8, 1904,
BY ONE WHO LOYED HER.
2?y Baby.
Such a little break in the sod!
^ Vva o rrrvy iro '
OU UUY HJ L?c a ?,j.uiv.
Oh! how can I render so soon to God.
The beautiful gift he gave?
Must I put you awayv-^ny pet?
My tender bud unblown ?
"With the dew of the morning upon you
yet,
And your blossom all unshown?
My heart is near to break,
For the voice I shall not hear,
For the clinging arms around my neck,
And the footsteps drawing near.
The tiny, tottering feet,
Striving for mother's knee,
For the lisping tones so sweet,
And the baby's kiss to me.
For the precious mother name.
And the touch of the little hand,
O! am I so very much to blame
If I shrink from the sore demand?
How shall I know her voice,
Or the greeting of her eyes,
'Mid the countless cherubs that rejoice,
In the gardens of Paradise?
How shall I know my own,
Where the air is white with wings?
My babe, so soon from my bosom flown,
To the angels' musterings?
% V M
And this is the end of it all!
Of my waiting and my pain?
Only a little funeral pah,
And empty arms again.
O. baby! ray heart is sore
For the love that was to be.
For the untried dream of love, now o'er,
'Twixt thee, my child, and me.
Yet over this little head,
Lying so still on ray knee,
I thank ray God for the bliss of the dead,
For the joy of the soul set free.
An angel came one solemn night,
Heaven's glory to bestow,
And take our darling from our sight;
What could we, Lord, at morning
light,
But weep, and let her go?
How dark the day that followed
That dreary night of pain;
Those eyes now closed, and nevermore
To open here again.
"Dear Lord," we said, with broken
speech.
Grant we may love thee more
For this new jewel in the crown
Where we had two before!"

A Sure Thing.
It is said that nothing is sure except
death and taxes, but that is not altogether
true. Dr. King's New Discovery
for Consumption is a sure cure for all
lung and throat troubles. Thousands
can testify to that. Mrs. C. B. VanMetre,
of Shepherdtown, W. Ya.. says:
"I had a severe case of Bronchitis and
for a year tried everything I heard of but
got no relief. One bottle of Dr. King's
New Discovery then cured me absolutely."
It's infallible for Croup,

All persons who find it necessary to take

and other eruptive diseases which are
caused by impure blood.
WI had been troubled for about four years with

almost unbearable as it would itch so." writes
Mr. John Larison. of 115 Powhattan St., Dallas,
Texas. "I concluded to try* Dr. Pierce's Golden

Quick Arrest.
J. A. Gulledge, of Verbena, Ala., was
twice in the hospital from a severe case
of piles causing 24 tumors. After doctors
and all remedies failed, Bucklen's
Arnica Salve quickly arrested further
inflammation and cured him. It conquers
aches and kills pain. 25c., at The

A Cure for Piles.
' I had a bad case of piles," says G. F.
Carter, of Atlanta, Ga., "and consulted
a physician who advised me to try a box
of DeWitt's Witch Hazel Salve. I purchased
a box and was entirely cured. It
is splendid for piles, giving relief instantly.
and I heartily recommend it to
all sufferers." DeWitt's Witch Hazel
Salve is unequalled for its healing qualities.
Eczema and other skin diseases,
also sores, cuts, burns and and wounds
of every kind are quickly cured by it.

J. Laurie Patterson was shot and

and Deaton ha- been arrested. Patterson

A Startling Test.
To save a life, Dr. T. G. Merritt. of
No. Mehoopany. Pa., made a startling
test resulting in a wonderful cure. He
writes, "a patient was attacked with
violent hemorrhages, caused by ulceration
of the stomach. I had often found
Electric Bitters excellent for acute
stomach and liver troubles so. I prescribed
them. The patient gained from the
first, and has not had an attack in 14

The Age of Love.
Professor Bell, of Clark university,
bas recently been engaged in the collection
of data as to the age at which
people love with the greatest ardor,
with the result that he now announces
his conclusions as follows:
The maturity of a woman's love is
reached at the age of 22.
A man loves most etrenously at an
average age of 24
All of which is very important if
true. Here is a tip if followed religously
by young men and young women
will give them the completest
fullest heart's desire.
If a young man forma an attachment
for a girl before he is 24 be may I
kuow it is not the real thing. He
must shake it c ff and wait. But if
during the 24th year be developes a
passion he may know that his fate is
upon him.
So with the young woman. When
she feels a flatter in her heart region
under 22 she may be assured is not
the thing that lasts. And as
she approaches 22 she may know she
is approaching a crisis. Lucky for
her if her 22nd year is leap year.
[Girls, be not worried about scientific
theories concerning the time
for love. Be guided by the dictates
of your own heart, and when seme
good, honest, big hearted young man
"pops the question," throw theory to
the dogs and if you love him say so.
