How Times Have Changed?
There is some talk to the effect
that Senator Tillman, owing to his i
health, will not be able to attend the
national convention. We trust that
this will not be the case. As the
Charleston Post says, Tillman always
could not be considered a conservative
force in politics yet it is certainly
true that he stands out eminently
6ucb io the notional situation. He
is alive to the necessity of nominating
at St. Louis a man who can command
the support of the Democracy

A Positive Necessity.
Having to lay upon my bed for 14 days
from a severely bruised leg, I only found
relief when I used a bottle of Ballard's
Snow Liniment. I can cheerfully recommend
it as the host medicine for
bruises ever sent to the afflicted. It has
now become a positive necessity upon
myself. D. R. Byrnes, Merchant, Doversville,

Expelling the Je-ws.
Berlin, May 5 ?Toe report is tbat
Russia has ordered the expulsion of
one hundred and fifteen Jewish families,
comprising six hundred persons,
from Mikolek, in the province of
Tchemigcff. A majority of those to
be expelled have lived there all their
lives and were wealthy. They will
thus be taken from a position of tffluence
tooDeof destitution. Tchernigoff,
says the paper, is within the pale,
and the expulsions are accordingly an
illegal and wanton persecution.
