He found his people well, and he is now r inhaling the sweet perfume of orange blossoms, and eating sweet peas, t>eans, lettuce, tomatoes and other ^ garden truck, strawberries, oranges, ^etc. He will return to his home ^ here in about ten days. E Fulmer of the Fork, who unfortunately lost his dwelling some time ago has, with the assistance of neighbors, commenced to rebuild at his old home, but it will not seem like the old home after all. The result of the contest at The v Kaufmann Drug Co, for the Dinner Set was: T. E Wingard guessed 800 feet and 6 inches; F. A. Derrick guessed 800 feet and 6 inches. This caused a tie. The string was 809 m*. feet and 3$ inches. k Revival Services. We have been requested to state that the noted Evangelist, the Rsv. W. P. Yarborough, will begin revival j services in Bethel church, near j Edmund, on the first Sunday in April, j r These services will probably close on the second Sunday in the same month. R Geiger, vs. the Seaboard Air Line Railway Company was in progress in the Common Pleas court. This was an action for damages for $1,900 claimed by the plaintiff by reason of the failure of defendants' train to stop atDlxianoa. The jury gave the plaintiff $200. The next caBe disposed of was that of Ellen A. Toole vs. Seaboard Air Line R R This was a claim Gf damages to woods by fire. She was given $375 damages. The Judge reduced the verdict of the jury in the caBe of Jacob M. Boone, vs. the Southern Railway, from $240 to $150, because be thought the verdict excessive. After passing several orders the court adjourned sine die last Thursday. The County Board of Control held its regular monthly meeting last Thursday. Accounts against the dispensary funds were audited and checks were issued for the same. Considerable routine business was transacted. The share of the profits devided from the sale of liquor comiDg to the several towns were as follows: Lexington, $73 50; Lewiedale, $26 44; Cbapin, 18 98: Peak, $46 09 The county's net profits amount to $164 99. Up to and including that date delit quent tax payers can pay their taxes with the additional penalty of 7 per cent, added. After that time the books will close and executions will be issued against those who have not paid and placed in the hands of the Sheriff for serv ce.
