bought out the South Carolina Telephone
company. Tbe deal has beeD
on for some time and was eonsumated
yesterday, and last night council
granted permission to tbe South Carolina
c mpany to eell. This was
necessary, because it was provided
by ordinance when tbe Souib Carolina
company came in that permission
must be obtained from the city before
a consolidation could be had with any
other company.
Tight Will Be Bitter.
Those who will persist in closing
their ears against the continual recommeudation

Obituary.
Died December 17, 1303. Thelma,
the little daughter of Mr. Henry
Koon and wife, who bad tbe misfortune
to have their child burned so
bad that death came in and eDdsd it's
awful suffering and it's spirit left
this world as it was and went home
to be with it's Saviour forever.
Thelma only stayed here 2 years, 11
months and C days. Weep not fond
parents, for Jesus says wll things
