John F. Ricard Dead.
This morning about 4 o'clock
Brother John F. Bicard passed away.
He was sick for quite awhile and his
death was expected. Mr. Bicard
leaves a wife and seven children.
He lived a Cnristian life and we
trust he is now at rest in our Father's
house. May the Lord ever bless and
keep his loved ones who mourn his
departure. I am sure we all shall
rnisa him very much. I have seen
him rc-joice in the religion he possessed
and he gave me much encouragement
just after I started in the Christian
life. God doeth all things well.

Pure Water.
It now looks as if the city of Col!
umbia will be supplied with pure
: water from old Piatt Springs, about
i eight miles south of our town. This
| is about the conclusion of the enj
gineer of the waterwoiks commission
| of that city. It will take a "mighty
| heap" of piping, but the water is as
clear as a crystul and as pure as can
be found in the mountains, and the
supply is inexhaustable.
+
Cash System.
After the 4th of January next, Mr.

conduct a more satisfactory bus:ness
to all concerned. He asks a
continuation of the liberal patronage
heretofore given him, promising the
beat goods at th6 lowest prices.
Don't write 1903 for l'JOI.
