Miss Jane Eargle speDt last week .with ber sister, Mrs. J. E. Werts, of Leesville. Miss Annie Cannon is visiting friends in Columbia and Brookland. Miss Mary Caugbman, of Black's, is visiting her cousin, Miss Leila * Sbealy. Mr. Pressley Shealy and daughter, MiBS Leira, spent a couple of days with relatives in Columbia last week. Mr. J. S. Eargale assisted Prof. Qaattletman in the Delmar Graded School last week. The assistant teacher, Mr. W. S. Crout, was a juror at Saluda. Some of the farmers of this section have plowed all of their stubble lands, getting it in condition for another crop. We are glad to see this work being done, as it shows that the farmers are taking more interest in his work and that they desire to produce better crops. This work is being done by the farmers who read agricultural literature, or those who are influenced by those who do read such literature. We find that many farmers are opposed to each work and sav that scientific or ? book farming will not do, and for that reason they do not care to take up any time in reading agricolturai papers and book3. ' Our advice would be for every farmer to read all first class agricultural literature that be can. If be does not care to follow the advice given, it will arouse him and cause him to have a desire to do better. Lloyd. Dec. 14, 1903. For Over Sisty Years. Dr. Pierce's Golden Medical Discovery cures diseases of the stomach and other organs of digestion and nutrition. It restores physical strength in the only Dossible way, by enabling the assimila Son of the nutrition contained in food. "I was sick for over three years with a complication of stomach troubles," writes Mr. John H. Castona, residing at 2942 Arch St., Chicago, Illinois. "Had tried every good physican I knew of, as well as many patent medicines, but received only temporary relief. One day a friend recommended your ' Golden Medical Discovery.' Ashburnham, Oat., April, 18.1903. ?I tbink it is only right that I should tell you what a wonderful effect Chamberlain's Remedy has produced. The day before Easter I was so distressed with a cold aDd cough that I did not tbink to be able to take any duties the next day, as my voice was almost choked by the cough. The same day I received an order from you for a bottle of your Cough Remedy. I at once procured a sample bottle, and took about three doses of the medicine. To my great relief the cough and cold had coropletly disappeared and I was able to preach three times on Easter D*y. I know that this rapid and effective cure was due to your Cough Remedy.
