Clever Gentlemen.
Messrs. Jones & Williams, the
well known furniture, stove and
house furnishing ^rods dealers, of
Columbia, were in town during the
County Fair mingling with our peo
pie, with a view of forming business
relations with them. They are clever
gentlemen to deal with and should
you need anything in their line they
will make it to your interest to see
them.

Dr. W. G. Browne, the well known
I
optician, will pay a professional visit to
this place and will be at the Kaminer
Hotel for one week, commencing next j
Monday, November 2nd, and will be
prepared to treat all defects of the j
vision with the latest improved spec- j
tades and eyeglasses, prepared especially
for each case after a most
scientific examination. Consultation
free. Dr. Browne has been here on
several previous occasions acd has
done work for a great many of our
people and we have yet to hear of
one Bingle instance of dissatisfaction.
This is certainly the best recommendation
of the doctor's skill as an
optician.
s An Unusual SsauQSt
The railroad commission has received
a copy of a resolution of the
grand jury of L mca6fcer county in regard
to a trestle of the Southern railway
over Bear creek, about a mile
south of Lancaster. The resolution
states that this trestle is in bad condition
and the commission is asked
to order the road to repair it. This
was done eouie ago, however, and by
now the bridge is ai! rigbt, as the recommendation
was passed on October
3 aDd an inspection of the road
was made later by members of the
commission. The request is unusual,
however, coming from a grand jury.
