You need only four gallons of L. & M. paint, and throe gallons of oil mixed therewith to paint a good siztd house. Houses painted with these paints never grow shabby, even after 18 years. Lexington is becoming to be quite an important railway station, Besides returning the largest freight receipts of any station between Columbia and Augusta, it is rumored that thi3 sta'ion is to be made the meeting point for all trains on the Augusta end. Be this as it may, however, it has been found that the present side track is insufficient to accommodate the traiDP, which cow meet here and the increased traffic that is now being done, aDd it is necessary to increase the side track capacity. A gang of hands have been at work on a new track, which commences Eear the old batting factory, a distance of about half a mile frnm thfl rlpnnf. toward the later place, joining the present side track. There is some move on foot looking to the advantage of Lexington, but the nature of which we have failed to catch on to.
