To the Grand Jury of said County and State for the year 1903: We, the undersigned, special committee of your body, appointed at the February term of Court last by you for the purpose of investigating the condition of the bonds of the various county officials and dispensers and the books kept by them, beg to make this, our report to you: Just previous to the last June term WUWVJ v * IIW4 U MUV* UJUVA ?MWV bWVJ KM* bave money on hand to meet their obligations, their books well kept, and their offices in a neat and clean condition. Just here were we wish to retqrn thanks to the connty officials for their hind and courteous manner extended to 08. We [find that tax returns in the Auditor's office accummulate very rapidly and have become to be in the way, and we suggest the grand jury as a body recommend that our representees pass an Act, if possible, allowing the County Auditor to destroy these returns after they become four years old, and the book made up from them be taken as the original tax returns. We further suggest the grand jary a3 a body recommend that the Solicitor insist, or if he can in any way aid us, in having the Magistrates of \ the oountv to make return to the ?r County Auditor of the fines and licenses collected by them, and that they trun over to the County Com' missioners of the County their books at least every quarter for their inspection. As to the management of the dispensary we will say that we have ex* amined the books kept by the County Board of Control of this county and find them in plain and neat conditioc, and jind them to be all right.
