.Sscond Growth.
One of our citizens of unimpeachahlp
vpracitv. who resides below
Swansea, states as a fact that recently
while passing along the road
which runs through the land of Mr.
John I. Laird, he saw a second
growth of blackberries. The berries
were well developed and will yet
ripen and somebody will erijoy blackberry
pies before frost comes. He
wants to know if any one ever heard
anything like this before. We have
not, yet we arc not surprised at the
great possibilities of the producing
properties of Lexington's soil.

Accident.
The oldest son of Mr. T. H. Williams,
of Irene, met with a painful
accident last Sunday, while on his
way to this' town. He was riding
in a chair in a wagon driven by his
father and in turning out to let another
wagon pass the chair tilted
and child fell to the ground dislocating
his right shoulder and Bpraicing
his arm. Dr. Wingard was called
upon and set the dislocation and
bandaged the arm. The little fellow
is doing as well as could be expected
under the circumstances.
Kill Enlarging.
The Lexington Manufacturing Co.,
is adding another addition to its
already large, commodious building, i
Another story is being put up over
the engine room in which the slasher
and similar machinery will be operated.
This is one of the most prosperous
and flourishing mills in the
State, and the quality of cloth and
bed ticking manufactured by it is
high grade in every respect. There
is always a healthy demand for the
products of this mill.
