Mr. J. Frye will ferve an old time

July. He is one among the best cuist
in the county, and his meats are all
deliciously cooked.

Fry was in town yesterday. He has

Mr. George D. McCartha has commenced
work on his cottage on Depot
street. Messrs. Henry and Julius
Ballentine are the contractors.
Messrs. Roof & Barre have purchased
the Henry D. Smith mill near
here, and Mr. Willis Ka miner and
his force of mill hands will operate
the same at its present site.
Mr. J. Milton Hite and Miss Ella
Belle Khoden were married at the
home of the bride's parents in Batesburg
last week, by the Rev. A. C.

There was a change of schedules
on the Agusta end of the Southern
Railroad last Sunday. The train from
Columbia which heretofore arrived
at this place at 12:05 a. m. is dow due
to arrive here at 2:08 p. m. The train
from Augusta which formerly arrived
here at 5 p. m , is dare here at 3:35
p. m.
We have been requested to state
that the place where the barbecue cf
Corley & Cirter on the -4:h, of July,
will be given, has been cnanged frira
the old Saluda Factory site to '-Nellie's
Spring." Those interested will
take due notice and govern themselves
accordingly.
Mr. H. D. Funderburk, the State
Councelor of the Junior Order Uoited
American Mechanics, will be present
at the ice cream festival at Irene on
Saturday evening, the 27th inst, and
will deliver an address in the interest
of the Junior Order. The members
of this Order hope to see a large
number of the people of Irene and
vicinity out on tnis occasion.

The crops are very sorry. The
raiDS have ruined the cotton crops
on the uplands, and what has Lot
been drowned cut is very small.
Nothing is left on the river bottoms.
Mr. Herbert Geiger's crop was
rained by the hail.
All the school girls and boys have
returned home to spend their vacation.
Mies Eppie Roof, was glad to
see her name on the honor roll of
the Palmetto Collegiate Institute
Miss Emma Muller, from the
College for Womer; Miss Annie
Wolfe, from Winthrop; Cadets A. B.
H. Kaigler and G. F. Kaigler, from
Clemsor, from which the former
graduated with honor and left on the
loih instant, to take a position with
the Electrical Telephone Exchange of
Augusta, Ga. I wish him much sussess
as BsDDie is a bright boy.
Miss Hattie Kaigler has returned
from quite an extended visit to C.bia,
where she has been visiting Captain
Starling's family, much to the
delight of her friends.
Mrs. H. F. Franck is very sick at
this writing. Hope she will scon be
well again.
Well, Mr. Editor, you must excuse
my poor composition and writing, and
if this does not find its way to the
waste basket, I will give you a few
more dots some day.
