"i'nere tias Deen a wonaeriuicnange
in the feeling of our people regarding
Senator Ben Tillman," remarked
D. M Newton of South Carolina recently
at the Riggs House to a Washington
Post reporter. "For many
years I was among his active political
enemies, but since I have come to
the man I am prepared to fight under
his banner as long as he wants to
stay in public life.
"The people of South Carolina have
found that in Senator Tillman they
have a man who has done and will
continue to do for them more good
deeds than any other man ever sent
by them to Washington. He not only
has the will, but the energy and the
ability to perform good service, and
his efforts for bis people are unceasing.
I regard him today as stronger
with all classes than at any time in
his career. He has won over many
of his former foes, the conservatives,
who see now they did him great injustice
when they branded him as a
demogogue."
"Any Cleveland followers in South
Carolina?"
"Yes; there are plenty of Democrats
who have for Mr. Cleveland the
highest respect and good will, but
when it comes to endorsing him for
another presidential nomination they
balk. He couldn't get a delegation
in any county in the State. He is
looked upon as representing one extreme
and Bryan another, and Carolinians
want no more of either in a
political way."
Worst of All Esperiencss.
Can anything be worse than to
feel that every minute win oe your
last? Such was the experience of
Mrs. S. H. Neweon, Decatur, Ala.
"For three years" she writes, "I endured
insufferable pain from indigestion,
stomach and bowel trouble.
Death seemed inevitable when doctors
and all remedies failed. At
length I was induced to try Electric
Bittera and the result was miraculous.
I improved at once and now
Em completely recovered." For
Liver, Kidney, Stomach and Bowel
troubles Electiic Bittera ia the only
medicine. Only 50c. It's guaranteed
