Painfully Burned.
The Columbia Evening Record informs
us that Mr. M. H. Witt of
Brookland, was painfully, though not
^ seriously burned Monday night, while
taking a cabinet bath. The lamp exploded
and in trying to extinguish
the fames Mr. Witt was painfully
burned on his right leg.

Burned.
The burn and cotton bouse of Mr.

L. J. Langford were burned on the
10th inst. The origin of the fire is
unknown, bat there are evidences
v which arouses suspicion of it having
been the work of an incendiary.
Mr. Langford's loss is about $150.
The Governor has offered a reward
of one hundred dollars for the appre*
hension and conviction of the person
or persons who did the dirty work.

Death, of an Infant.
A little child, about three weeks of
age, of Mr. Keuben D. Harman,
died Sunday afternoon after a brief
illness and was buried in St. Stephen's
cemetery, Monday afternoon.
