Leesville, but now holding a position
at the penitentiary in Columbia, was
in town last week and gave us a call.
It is expected that the building of
the Leesville cotton seed oil mill will

of the News and Courier under date of
July 16th, says, among other things:

Mr. George W* Pound, one of the
leading citizens of the Swansea section,
was in town yesterday. He

looking fine, notwithstanding they
are needing rain. The people, he
says, are paying more attention to
industrial questions than they are
political ones, consequently politics
are quiet.

This is a good time of the year to
perform this duty which is due the
State. The country people are not
busy with their farm work and the
earth is dry so that all things are
favorable to do this work thoroughly.
