To the Editor of the Dispatch:
The health of the community is
cot very good at this writing, but we
hope the usual good health of the
community will soon be restored.
Mrs. P. E. Black bas been very sick
for the past few days, but we are
glad to say that she is improving.
Little Ira, the son of Mr. W. IT.
Kood, met with an unfortunate accident
recently. A shingle block fell
on him from a wagoD, and knocking
dowD, the wagon wheel passed over
one of bis legs.
Mr. T. Hill had the misfortune to
lose one of his fine Tennessee hogs
sometime since.
We often hear of fortunes and misfortune?,
but the girls would rather
hear of Mr. Fortune.
We will have to go to Charleston
on the 14tb, to see the President of
these United States.
Messrs. L. E. Black and H. D.
Harman went to Batesburg on Monday
last and took in all the rain.
Some of our farmers have been resowiDg
their lands which were recently
frozen, bat I think the land is
bo wet that the seed will never see the
light.
Mr. J. J. Long hauled a load of
wood to our school house last week,
which was very acceptable.
Some very unfavorable weather has
passed, so we say, but we must take
it as it comes whether it pleases or
dipieases us. Our wishes are really not
considered in the matter at all. We
grumble and growl about the Lord's
work and vainly imagine that if we
ooold have it our way we would have
it better than the Lord can possibly
arrange the immutable laws of nature.
But well for us and our world
that it is not so ordained. The Lord
is the omnipotent ruler of the universe
and orders all things as to him
seemeth best for the happiness of his
creature*. We must do like cur
friend Max says: "Fear God and
don't grumble." Just work and leave
the results to God, and I can assure
you that all things will work out
right in the end. H.

A new heater has been placed in

Mr. D. D. Amick has moved to

can be of more service to our readers
than to tell them of something that
will be of real good to them. For
this reason we want to acquaint them
with what we consider one of the
very best remedies on the market for
coughs, colds and that alarming complaint,
croup. We refer to Chamberlain's
Cough Remedy. We have
used it witn suca gooa results in Gur

household necessity. By its prompt
use we haven't any doubt but that it
has time and again prevented croup.

small children, always keep it in their
homes as a safegaurd against croup."

Catarrh has become such a common
disease that a person entirely free fiom
this disgusting complaint is seldom met
with. It is customary to speak of Catarrh
as nothing more serious thau.a bad cold
a simple inflammation of the nose and
throat. It is, in fact, a complicated and
very dangerous disease; if r.ot at first, it
very soon becomes so.
The blood is quickly contaminated by
the foul secretions, and the poison through
the general circulation is carried to ai!
parts of the system.
Salves, washes and sprays are unsatisfactory
and disappointing, liccausc they dc
not reach the seat of the trot:! le. S. S. S.

and eliminates from the system ail catarrhal
secretions, ami thus cures thoroughly
and permanently the worst cases.
