Auat Eaaaah Discards the Nev
: Hymn Book.
Uocle Toov never for a raomeDt
thought that the Dew hymn books
he was distributing to bis coDgrega
tion would ever impair hi* usefulness
as their pastor. About the closing
of the morning services he says:
''Bredrin and sisterin, dese are de
new hime books, and I want you all
to larn to sing wid de spirit am de
understanding an' when yer gits ter
ra?lin wid some ob dese tunes and is
bout to be obercum, j-^s foller sister
Hanner, she'll tote 'em through level.
Her smoove voice i9 always heard
way down on de home stretch when
de oder nags is jas acomin around de
bend wid their racket. When I calls
fa?- ria mnnrners des here himesll
fotch 'em kerrect on de schedule. I
takes de noon refreshments at sister
Hanner'e, an' is to convarse wid L12abeth
on de outlook ob her feelins an
I dismiss diss meetin' to de evenin'
services when de candles is lit."
Aunt Hannah pushed ahead toward
home, to make up the chicken
pie and set the house in order for the
noon refreshments.
On her way with the hymn book
in her band, she came across some
bad bovs playiDg marbles in the road.
One of tbem said:
. "Why, Aunt Hannah, what are you
canwiDg that book foi? You can't
read."
Aunt Hannah replies: "Die is de
new bime boob; jes read dis ritin on
de fust leaf, Marse Joe, please sah."
Joseph reads: "Dis book am presented
to my lovin' sister HanDer
by Parson Tony Stokes, de minister."
"Dafc sounds purty, but you orter
hear some ob de himes in dat book,

Joe winks ot tbe other boyB and
reads:
"I saw Esau kiss Kate'
And she saw I saw Esau,
And Esau ha saw she saw me,
And I saw she saw Esau.
"That's a very queer hymn. Aunt
Hannah,'' said Joe.
"Dar's a mighty heap ob saws
mixed up in dat tune, and I's afeard
dat de he saws and she saws will seasaw
all de 'ligion outen it. But it's
got de right doctrin in dar; it ludes
to Esau on de mountain a viewin' de

preacher is a mighty pius, high-larnt
brudder: be loot iru de specticies 01

"0 is a aught,

'"How do you iike that one, auDt\?"
"I yuster think dat wasn't a'ligious

zamminashun ob de free school. I'd
ruther brudder Tony had left dat one
out. Got no use for multiplyin' and
substractia' in de pulpit. Let's try
a few more ob 'em, dar's bound to be
some real good ones in dar.''
Joseph turns over a few leaves and
reads:
"The Yankees did the niggers fool
Forty acres and a mule,
Enough to make?"
"Stop, Marse Joe, right dar. I
don't wan't to hab politics mixed up

Poison **!?&
Poison
are among the best known
of the many dangerous
wild plants and shrubs. /'
To touch or handle them ,Tj
quickly produces swelling
Mid inflammation with in- \j/ *
tense itching and burning
of the skin. The eruption
soon disappears, the suf- jFtsTg ^Jjjy
ferer hopes forever; but
almost as soon as the little blisters and
pustules appeared the poison had reached
the blood, and will break out at regular
intervals and each time in a more aggravated
form. This poison will loiter in the
system for years, and every atom of it
must be forced out of the blood before you
can expect a perfect, permanent cure.
Cs! Na{"!'es Aai^e,J
*j#M9^Nati;re-s Poisoas,
is the only cure for Poison Oak, Poison
[vy, and all noxious plants. It is coinposed
exclusively of roots and herbs. Xow
is the time to get the poison out of your
system, as delay makes your condition
ivorse. Don't experiment longer with
salves,washes and soaps?they never cure.
Mr. S. M. Marshall, bookkeeper of the Atlanta
(Ga.) Gas Light Co., was poisoned with Poison
Oak. He took Sulphur, Arsenic and various
jther drugs, and applied externally numerous
lotions and salves with no benefit. At times the
jwelling and inflammation was so severe he was
ilrnost blind. For eight years the poison would
break out every season. His condition was much
improved after taking one bottle of S. S. S , and
i few bottles cleared his blood of the poison, and
ill evidences of the disease disappeared.
People are often poisoned without
knowing when or how. Explain your case
Fully to our physicians, and they will
:heerfully give such information and advice
as you require, without charge, and
we will send at the same time an interesting
book on Blood and Skin Diseases. <
