A forest fire swept the turpentine farm of Rev. W. D. Quick, near Horeb church, list week entailing a heavy loss upon him. The loss of Mr. Fox, the owner of the timber, is estimated at $500. Mr3. B. Church, South on the following Saturday. An election was held at Peak Monday for muncipal officers of that town and the following gentlemen were unanimously elected: Intendant, Jackson Counts. Wardens, J. F. Mahaffie, J. H. Bushhardt, W. H. Suber and J. F. Epting. Everybody's Magazine for April has been received. Kaminer, formerly of this place, has accepted a position with the Globe Dry Goods Company, in Columbia, and she extends a cordial invitation to ber Lexington friends to call on her there when in Columbia.
