Oscar I. Fleming, the magistrate who
shot and killed Clarence I. Sayder of
this city la3t November, was convicted
of murder in the second degree

He will ask for a uew trial
but it is conceded that the coirt will
not graut it. The case will be carj
ried to the circuit court and possibly
to the supreme court of appeals.

Wheeler was in Atlanta a couple cf
hours today on his way to Washington.

of Representatives and take the oath
af office." The General did not say
what steps he would take if bis right
to take the oath is questioned.

Elward Rissell, of Liverpool Post,

Mrs Liwton, widow of the late Mij.
Gen. Liwton, the fund subscribed by

awaiting the arrival of the doctor.
An Albany (N. Y ) dairyman called
at a drug store there for a doctor to
come and see his child, then very
sick with croup. Not finding the
doctor in, he left word for him to
come at once on his return. He
also bought a bottle of Chamberlain's

should arrive. In a few hours
he returned, saying the doctor need
not come, as the child was much better.
