OBITUARY.
Elij ih V*'ingard was born November
5, 1818'and died January 24,
1900. Aged 81 years, 2 months and
1!) days.
Hi was married to Caroline Gable.
This unioti was blessed with seveD
children?four sods (one of whom
died) and three daughters.
Iu his death the wife has lost a
devoted companion; the children a
kind father: the community a good j
neighbor, and St. James Evanglical
Lutheran church a faithful and consistent
member. "Blessed are the
dead v.ho die in the Lord." The funeral
seivices were conducted by the
Rev. W. II. Roof. A Friend.
Henry Luther Price was born
February 2Icb, 183S and died
at iiis borne near i'rictville, .Lexington
county, January 24, 1900. He was
married January 7:b, 1858 to Miss
Susan Nancy Boian. Eleven children
were born to then.?nine sons and
two daughters. Eight sons, two
daughters, twenty-nine grandchildren
and one great grandchild, with
the widow mourn their loss.

banks and safes. The report states

successful burglary of a bank vault
or safe by electricity, and that there
is no neccessity for alarm on this

A. Georgia convict, working with
others in a contractor's brickyard,
escaped by piling bricks in a hollow
square, and thus shutting himself in
until the convicts had been locked up
for the night.
A woman has at last choked to
death from putting hairpins in her
mouth, but probably all the other
women will go right ahead with the
same mad recklessness.
