Spinners Prefer Roundlap Bales.
The Demand in New England and
Abroad Largely in Excess of
Last Tear's.
The spinners of New England,
having learned by experience of the
advantages conferred by its use, are
heavy buyers of The Cotton Company's
Roundlap balad cotton. One
Massachusetts mill alone bought
25,000 Roundlap bales the latter
part of September, and purposes
hereafter using no cotton packed by
any other method if it can get enough
Roundlap bales to supply its spindles.
Another Massachusetts mill
has bought 8,000 Roundlap bales
this season, and twenty-five other
New England mills have ordered
smaller lots.
The European demand for The
American Cotton Company's bales is
largely in excess of last season's.
Early in October 8,000 Roundlap
bales for Liverpool were shipped
from Galveston in one steamer.
Shipments go forward regularly to
Genoa, Havre, Bremen and Barcelona.
