I They have pretty well cleaned up the 1 distilleries in these counties. DuriDg \ the past week while oa these raids they attempted to search the bouse i of Mr. Deb Bed, of Aiken, who had < been reported, and on presenting i their search warrant Mrs. Red got hold of a double barreled shot gun, and Mr. Red who also had a pisto1, refused to allow the constables to make the search, saying that they would only do so over tbeir dead ! bodies. After disarming Mrs. Red end placing her under arrest, her husband then submitted to the search and also trying to make his wife keep quiet, but she jefused to do so and kept cursing and abusing the men.
