Harman, of the County Fair Association, Governor Eileibe has appointed Messrs. Theodore S. Harman, Bunyon B. Swygert, H. A1 Meetze, Samuel L Rawl, P. H. Corley, Fred Little and "Warren F. Weed, constables to serve during the present week at the fair. Such constables under the terms of the act are required uto take the oaths prescribed in Section 26 of Article III, of the constitution of 1893," and their powers and jurisdiction are described in the Act: "Suck constables shall have jurisdiction in the County of Lexington to a limit of one mile in each direction from the principal building of said association located on its fair grounds, and shall have all the powers and duties pi escribed in Section 872 of the General Statutes cl 1882. In any arrest made by said constables they shall carry the party or parties so arrested before the Magistrate of the judicial district within which the said fair grounds are then situate." The salaries of these constables are to be paid by the Lexington County Fair Association. Secret of Beauty is health. The Second Annual Fair of the Lexington CouLty Fair Association was opened this morning under the most flattering prospects for a successful ending. All the departments were well filled with exhibits of un- j usual merit. Some of the specimens I in the agricultural and household de- J partments are very fine and reflects J credit upon the county in general i and the producers in particular. A commodious main build ing has just been finished by the well known contractor, Mr. Killian Harman, and it is substantially built out of the best materials. A large shed has been built for the poultry exhibit and it is fitted up with convenient coops. Alterations and additions have been made to the stables and pens. The track in the arena has been laid and packed with clay. The bicycle course is in tip top order and the management of the Fair are to be congratulated on the manner in which the woik has been completed and the nature of the im-' provements made. The attendance is reasonably large considering that it is the first day of the fair when everything was naturally topsy turvey and everybody were as busy as bees putting the articles in their proper place. It is expected that at least two thousand persons will be on the grounds tomorrow as all Lex j ing ton will turn out on that day. ? Diseases of the Blood and Nerve*.
