Columbia Evening Record. A handsome Christmas tree filled with many beautiful presents, was given Saturday t) the children of tie St. Andrews Sunday school in Lower Dutch Fork, just across the liver on the Lexington side. There were three Caristmas trees iu Brookland Saturday?one in the Methodist church, one in the Lutheran church and one in the new store room at the foot of the Congaree bridge. The latter was given by the operatives of the Columbia mills. Every superintendent of the different departments was given a handsome present. Superintendent Bowersox and General Manager C. K. Oiliver each received a handsome goldheaued cane. All these handsome presents were given as a token of the high esteem in which these gentlemen are held by the operatives. > Masonic. The local Masons had a jollification at their lodge room Monday. It was an extra communication called for the purpose of instaling the officers which had been previously elected to serve the present masonic year. In addition to the officers published in these columns last week the announcement of the following appointive officers was made, who together with the elective officers, j were instaled: Sam P.
