December's salesdav was a quiet and tame
affair The vistors lrom the country districts
were small in number, but pleasiug
and robust in looks, having the appearance
that the world owed them a living and they
had beat it out ot her with hard licks from
the hoe and many turns of the plow.
There were 110 drunks, no lights and no
horse swapping.

of The Cotton Growers' Association
of Lexington county be made prominent.
A resolution was passed endorsing
the appointment by the Governor of
Richard I. Manning of Sumter, and
D. M. Crosson of Lcesviilc, among
others as delegates to attend a con*
