Lendford Kelly, infant son of Mr.
and Mr$. Lonnic "NY. Harman, near
Wyse's ferry, was born June 3,1896,
and died September, 1, 1896, aged
2 months and 28 days. The little
body was laid to rest in the Wyee
burying ground by Rev. S. Of' Ballentine.
It is well with the child.
At the meeting of the farmers in
the court bouse Jast Monday, the

foster mother, Mrs M. A. Corley, of
this place, and has now returned to
her pleasant home, her devoted
friends, and to her neat and lucrative
vocation among the flying shuttles
of the ideal manufactory at
Langley, S. C.
Cipt. Isaiah Yansant, who, it will
be remembered left this county some
years sgo to make his home in Boye,
Texas, has returned to his native !

Mr. J. E. Koon is the happiest man

Rev. Jacob Wike preached an excellent
sermon at Chapin Sunday.
Miss S. Ella Slice is improving
slowly.
The two vouner men who walked
the bridge to get home are as good
as the one who walked six miles to
carry liis old rice puddiDg five on the
train.
Messrs. Paul and Silas McCartha
are getting a move on them. Lookout,
girls, one of you can get a sweetheart.
Mr. Elias is getting a move on him
carrying the mails from Wessingers
to Irmo. That's right, Elias; but
mind, don't stop at the new house
as you might get left.
Mrs. Ida Swygert is mending
slowly from a stroke of paralysis. I
trust that she will continue to improve.
Dr. Eargle and F. P. had a ra< e
with the ox. F outran the doctor.
I think Frank had better take the ox
and run a race at the fair this fall.
Mr. Sidney Slice paid a living visit
up home the other Sunday.
Mr. R. P. Slice killed the largest
rattlesnake that ever was known in
his community. It was four feet
long, six inches across the back, had
six rattles and 4 buttons and was in
