C., were married in Columbia, Wednesday. Our old rooster, which has done good crowing in the elections for the past twenty-five years for the cause of Democracy, was burned with our office. His non apprearance in these column is thus explained. TV. A. McGuire, a well known citizen of McKay, Ohio, is of the opinion that there is nothing as good for children troubled with colds or croup as Chamberlain's Cough Remedy. A tramp hailing from England at! tempted to board a freight train at Arthur's station, while in motion, and fell under the car wheels. The following is the result of the < recent examination of applicants for teachers certificates, before the Board of Examiners of this county: First grade, 1; second grade, G; third grade, 12. The Board decided to leave the time for the opening of the public I schools to the trustees of each school district as in their judgment may subserve the best interest of the free schools. The Board also ordered the adoption of the text books authorized by the State Board so that there shall be an uniformity of books used in the schools of this county. ( | Mr. George W.
