A New Public Pcoad. i < I ' Efforts, which will probably be j J successful, are being made for the opening of a public road leading from , San Dam on North Edisto river to intersect the Lexington road about the crossing of the old Charleston road, thence to Wagener, in Aiken i county. A bridge will have to be erected across North Edisto, the expenses of which will be borne equally by the counties of Lexington and Aiken. A petition asking the j opeuing of this road will be heard by i the Commissioners of this county November 1st. We presume that a j similar petition will be presented to the Commissioners of Aiken. -t To Our Subscribers. Our collector will attend the Treasurer on his rounds through the county, and we earnestly-request all indebted to us to see him and settle up. He will have the names of all parties indebted to the Dispatch and the amount due, and will be at the appointments of the Treasurer for the purpose of collecting.
