In regard to the matter of stand- n
Lard weights the law of nearly all t'
Southern States have fixed the weight o
oi our agricultural products, so tar c
as the bushel unit goes. It is true n
that many grocery men do not observe t<
the rule in selling fruits and vegetables,
as it is much more convenient ^
to use measures than to employ the p
scales in selling them. What is
wanted is a law that shall be uniform
throughout the whole country, and ^
which should be forced to be observed.
Even eggs and poultry generally
should be sold by the pound. ^
