A Fruit and Melon Growers' Association
was formed here a few days
ago. Its first and greatest work

and express companies by which
the growing of fruits and melons will
be mutually advantageous. So mote

both converted to the Baptist faith j
after entering upon foreign mission i

lege at Washington D. C. His body
is buried at Pino Pleasant church in
Edgefield county, at which place the
recent memorial services were held.
Steps will be taken at an early future
day to establish in the bounds of the
Ridge Association a Luther Bice Alt - j
merial School. The Ridge Assgeia
tion includes part of Aiken, Edgeheld
and Lexington counties. Its j
shape is undesirable as a new county, |
but its existence grew out of the inconvenience
consequent to our large
counties and when a new county is
formed, as it will doubtless be, out
of portions of Aiken, Kdhefield and

Mayor lias given permission to "shoot

These blackbird camps are quite I
common in Illinois, but one of auch
magnitude as this is very rarely seen.
