Lewie was an affectionate husband, a kind and iudnlgent father, a sincere friend, and a prominent and most excellent citizen. Capt. Lewie was a man of wealth, being estimated to be worth frorti $50,000 to $75,000, and besides he had his life insnred in a solid company for $20,000. We learn that he was abont 57 years of age. Fire. Last night, about 10 o'clock, the building of the Lexington Graded School was discovered to be afire. The fire originated in the interior, and when discovered the door was forced open and the whole inside was ablaze, and in half an hour the building and all the school furniture were in ashes. Messrs. Fnrman Brodie and Alfred Fox were in the upper story an hoar after the school closed in the evening, oiling the bell bearings, and say when they left there was no fire except embers in the firepleces. It is th9 opinion of seme that the cause was accidental, others suspect incendiarism. The bailding was the the property of Mrs. Maj. G.*Leaphart. The Graded School lost about $200 worth of school furniture and apparatus. 3io insurance. The School was opened promptly at 9 o'clock this morning in the Court-house with a fall attendance, where it will be taaght again tomorrow. The Trasteea of the school to day rented the old Jake Gross house, and will have furnitnre in it to-morrow, so that school will open therein Friday morning. Stables are on the premises for the accommodation of pupiis horses.
