Kemker- Wodwine Comfy and Cracker Co. :
Sirs? The samples of candies, including the "Diamond Caramal," "Cream FrtdV
flavored Mixed." and "Gilt-edge Stick" were received, and have been carefully examined.
They are all of delicate and delicious flavor. The "Diamond Caramel" is especially
marked in this respect, as well as for its great richness. The nature of the coloring
matter is vegetable.' No poisonous or other deleterious substances were detected in any
of the samples, nor in the sugar used in their manufacture. I pronounce them altogether
good, choice, and wholesome.
JAMES M. SAFFOBD.
