We notice that a bill has been introduced
in the Legislature to renew
the charter of the Guignard Ferry
across the Congaree, below the Columbia
Bridge. We trust the charter
may be .granted as the ferry has saved
many dollars to the people of this
county by giving them lighter tolls
than the Bridge Company charged
before the ferry was operated. The
bridge tolls have been reduced to a
level of the ferry tolls by the competition,
but if the ferry is not ro-j
chartered the brxdgh will again j
; its -toil- as eoon the ferrv.

chartered our people should iu *>ein
