I The reunion and pie-nic of the vetorans of Lancaster county at Dixie last Thursday was the grandest affair in the history of Dixie and one of the largest in the history of the county. It is estimated that 3,000 people were in at- 1 tendance, and more than 100 vet- t. crans, by actual count, were in ? ranks in the procession. Mr. W. G. A. Porter was in command and was master of ceremonies during i lit- uiij , hill (HiuciIH; 1110 SpeHKOl'H, etc. Judge Jones' speech in the forenoon was admirable, as was also the speech of congressman Finle? in the afternoon end the spe ?h of t\Ir. (-too. W. Jones. As to the dinner, it was excellent and in abundance. As many more could have satiated their ap pet it os and then there would have been baskets fuP to have gathered up. The day was indeed an en joyablo one to everybody present and many are the compliments being paid to trie management and to the Dixie community on the splendid order and general success of the occasion, not the slightest thing occurring to roar the pleasure of anyone in that linmenso throng of 3,000 souls.
