Ollicial Voto Tubulated by Hxecutive
Committee.?The Vote
Wns Very Heavy.

I
The S'ate, Sept 3.
The State Democratic executive
committee met lust nigbt in the
office of the secretary of state and
tabulated the voto for the candidates
for State offices, for coDgreas
and solicitor.
After the transaction of the
routine business, the committee
authorized the chairman to call a
meeting of the committee on the
20th of September for the purpose
of tabulating the vote in lhe second
primary.
Two unusual occuirences were
noted at tho meeting last night.
One is that tho vole for State
otlicers is incomplete, the roturns
from Beaufort and some other
counties not having been forwarded.
The other matter of nnuguui
interest is that tho vote for the
State will run over 100,000?the
first time in the hi-tory of the
Democratic primary. Last night
with the official returns frem four
counties missing the reported vote
was 9(5,000. And this, in view of
the fact that in Charleston fully
500 people neglected to vote the
State ticket at all. shows this to
have been the heaviest vote in the
history of the Democratic party io
the State. Greenville and Spartanburg
alone cast a vote equivalent
to that of half a dozon counties of
ordinary voting strength. The
exact figures for the nominees for
State offices could not be given
last night but will be available to day.
The total vote for railroad
uonmiissioner was reported, and
is as follows:
I Cansler 11,586
J Earlo 21,212
Evans 19,207
Garris 20,376
