An Ordinance
To Raise Supplies For The
Fiscal Year Commencing
Jan. 1st, 1904.
He it ordained by the Mayor and
Aldermen of the Town of Lancaster,
rf in Council assembled, and by
the authority o' the same, to provide
for Mipplie* and nicessary expenses of
the town.
Section 1. That the following tax*
es be and are hereby levied for the fiscal
year 1904, that is to say:
1st. A tux of fifty cent* 011 each
$100.00 of the value of all roul and per.
eon-il property within the corporate
limits of the Town of I ancaster, 8 C.,
due and payable between the firat and
thirty first days of November 1004, at
the ofllce of the Town Treasurer; and
all tuxes due and remaining unpaid
on the 1st day <>' December 11)04, shall
be subject to a pe talty of fifteen per
cent, for the nonpayment of taxes
when due. Ami the Town Trepsurer
after default in the payment of said
taxes, shull issue execution directed to
any policeman of the Town or Sheriff
of the County for the delinquent tux
es, costs and penalties followiug the
mode for c dlecting delinquent taxes
as now provided by Stute laws.
2nd. The following licenses shall
be paid in advance on or for the fols

and it shall be unlawful for any

neglecting or refusing to pay the res
quiied license as lierein provided,
shall pay a fine of not less than five

dollars, or be imprisoned for not less 4
than five days or more than thirty
days.
Hection 7 All able bodI ad male
persons between the uges of eighteen
and fifty years, residing within the
corporate limits of the said Town, not
exempt from road duty under lbs laws 1
of the Btate, shall work the streets, '
pavements, ways and bridges of the
Town under the direction of and to
the satisfaction of such policemen or
overseers as may he appointed or may
have already been appointed, for
a space of lime not less than fourda.ss,
nor exceeding six days in each year. 1
