Thirteen Deaths in Norfolk from
Toy Pistols.
Norfolk, Jan. 3.?Four more
lives were today added to the long
list of fatulit?e* growing out of
lockjaw produced by burns recieved
from toy pistols during
Christmas.
This brings the total up to 13
deaths and there are at least two
cases which will result fatally.
The Smallpox Situation in Charlotte.
For the past few weeks the
smallpox situation in this city has
been steadily improving, and now
the city utid county health oflicers
have full control and are
stamping out the disease. At
present there are 3D colored and
10 white people in the smallpox
hospital, several being discharged
