Anderson, Dec. 8.?While M:b <) 11 L Hull, a most estimable young woman living about 12 oiiles from here, in the lower part of the county, was drawing a bucket of water from a well (55 feet deep early this morning the curbing around the weil gave way and she fell to the bottom, sus. ?; ?: iniuiug suveiu iiijuciuti. ner uusband, who was near, immediately wont down tho well on the rope and caught his wife and held her bead out of tho water, which was deep, for over an hour before help could be obtained. A physician reached the scene shortly after her removal from the well and it was found that her injuries wore fatal, and she died late this afternoon. ? A few days ago tho wife of John Marsh,tho negro condemned to death for rape, went to the jail to see her husband, and Sheriff Horn, noticing that tho woman carried a small satchel, asked to bo allowed to sea its contents. Tho woman protested there was nothing in the satchel, but when it was opeBed it was found to contain two large knives. Of course tho knives did not go into the jail.?Monroe Enquirer.
