Anderson, Nov. 3.?Information reached the city today of a brutal murder on Saturday night at Norris Station, throe miles fiom Central ou the Air Line road. Nero Hallams, an old and re spected colored citizen, was sitting id u room in his home when an assassin fired a load of shot at him through the window. The load entered his breast killing him instantly. Another shot wus fired which buried itself in the wall. - Bloodhounds were secured from Cleuison colloge in a short while and they wore placed on trucks which wore found at the window. They followed the tracks to the home of a white man in tho community. Those who had them in charge thought there might be a mistake and carried them back to the scene of the killing, but the dogs went straight to the same house a second time. There have been no arrests so fur as there is uothing to go .upon except the action of the dogs. Hallams is said to have been a good negro and had the good will of his white neighbors. New York, Nov. 8.?Nellie Cor. oran, who for twenty days lay in a mysterious state of comu in St.' Vincent's hospital, died early today. Her case was an extremely puzzling one to medical i practitioners throughout the city i he girl fell into a state of unconsciousness'October 18tli, at the house where she was employed as a servant. At the hospital, whore she was taken, heroic efforts to determine the cause of her condition met with little success. Hundreds of physicians examined her and every known method was tried to awaken her, but with little success. Two or three times she was aroused and spoke a few words, saying she was sleepy and again became un*? conscious. Electricity was applied and in hard doses, but ineffectively. Neurologists and pathologists tried to diagnoes the girPs condition, but could not. Specialists of nearly every medical field were called in, but they arrived at no conclusions as to the cause of the coma or its proper diagnosis. It | wiiy even suggested that some one had hypnotized her and efforts to throw off such spell wore made, but to no purpose.
