plaintiff and E. Moore the defendant.
Mr. Moore gave notice of a

woman had been intimate with

who i* employed on the sewerage
work, caino hy her house
in Saturday evening and the two
went out on the Broad river road.
.stopping at Mr. W. H. Dent's
store to get some supplies and
leaving there, so Cantoy said, to
go across the river. That was
the last seen of either until the
body was found.
Last nigh, about 10 o'clock,
Officer Dunning heard that Cantoy
was in a house on tho lower
end of Sumter street. He immediately
went down and arrested
him, Cantoy offering no resistance.
Mr. Dent identified him
as the man who had called at the
store in company with the Kershaw
woman. Cantoy was turned
over to the sheriff and taken to
jail.
There can no longer bo any
doubt about the right man being
caught. Policeman Dunning secured
a search warrant this morning
and went to the house where Cantev
was arrested last night. He
was accompanied by Magistrate's
Constable (iiiston. As soon as
the two officers approached, a woman

Tuesday night Policeman ,\nierson
