Death Of Wni. II. Perry.

Greenville, .July 7. ? Col. Wm.
H. Perry died at t?.30 this evening
at Sans Souci, his residence,
where be has been kept indoors
for a long while. 1 lo was stricken
with paralysis four years ago,
and has been helpless the greater
part of the time since.
Mrs. Perry was on a brief visit
to Alabama and was expected to
return tomorrow. Uol. Terry was
in usual condition a few clays ago,
but a sudden return of his allliction
soon ended his lifo. He was
the eldest son of Gov. Terry,
was solicitor, State senator and
member of congress I ('tween
1808 and J 890. He married Miss
Louise Hankhcad of Alabama.

morning resultingin the death
of Earnest, the 0-ycar-old son of
Mr. \V. K. Prothro, intendant of
this place. The littlo fellow was
I supposed to have been cleaning a
I parlor rifle about noon Saturday.

Three White Men and Two Negroes

white men and two negroes were
killed, one white man and one
injured as I ho result of a severe

The men were all employed in
the construction department of

Teleg-sph company and were
stretching wire when struck hy
lightning. The construction force
was working in two section# about
live minutes spurt. Three white
men were killed and one injures
in one section and one injured in
the other.
One lightning holt killed the
live and injured the two. The
white men killed were M. C.
Hawkins, F. B. Sluder and A. H.
Ubymer, nil of Alexandor, N. C.
The first sossion of the 57th
