Convicted Murderer Released
from .Jail by I lis Friends.
Atlanta, May 25. ? A Constitution
special from Jackson, Miss.,
says: "Oliver Lamar, recently |
convicted of murder and sentenced
to life imprisonment, was released
from jail at Mendenball,
early tins morning by a mob of
his friends. Sheriff Magee sent
out several posses in pursuit, but
Lamar has not yet been appro- i
bended. The bars were pried oil
the jail from the outside. It is
no1, thought that more than six
men wore in the gang. Lamar 1
was convicted of the assassination
of \Ym. Sunders, a liveryman. ?
Two men, supposed to have assisted
in iliO escape, were arrested

Tom Wilson after him. Coining
down town ho surrendered and
was locked up. He waived preliminary
trial anil was bound over to
court The woman's wound is serious,
but not necessarily dangerous.
