afternoon lightning struck and
killed a cow belonging to George

An oak tree on the Williams lot

The State Democratic Executive

schedules for the senatorial and
Slate campaigns for this year.
The senatorial circus will open in
Columbia Tuesday, Juno 17, and
wind up at Wmnsboro Thursday
Aug. 21st. It will be at Lancaster,
Tuesday, August 10th. The
State show opens in Sumter Juue
17th and ends in Columbia Thursday,
Aug. 21. It will be billed
for Lancaster Wednesday Jnlv
30th.
The candidates are required to
tile their pledges with tho chairman
of the committee at Columbia
not later t han 12 o'clock noon on
the day before tho campaign opem*,
and assessment is payabl e
upon tho tiling of the pledge.
The assessments are as follows,
