churches of several denominations
The. people are as "lever and
sociablw heic aa they can be.
There are a lot of people here
from Lancaster count v, and it
makes roe feel like I am at home
when 1 meet with them. The
lattd loeks to nae like it is a rich
as it can he. Crops were short
here last year, from what 1 can
find out^-abbuf like crops were
in Lancaster, but the people seem
te be in a better condition thua
they are there. Of course they
have to buy the most ?f their feed
stuff and it is about as high hero

farmer* seem te hare tho money
to buy it with. The most of the
people use cistern water here. I
here keen a few wells but the
water is pot good to drink. They
hare.tanks for their cattle.
It is very dry here now; hasn't
rained to amount to any thing since
last may. But the farmers are
preparing their land for anolher
crop. Wages are geod on the
farm?from ' twelve to tifteen
drillers per month. Tney don'
ask a. man to work fer less than

This seems to be a healthy country,
from the look* of the people.

think it is a geod country for a
peer man to make a living in;
